Spending New Year’s Eve in London with the whole family? Find out all the fun winter activities you can get up to in the capital!
New Year’s Eve in London is always a fun time for the whole family. However, with the traditional fireworks display not happening for a second year running as we head into 2022, you might be left wondering what to do in London on New Year’s Eve. Well, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s still tons of great activities you can enjoy with the kids 9this New Year’s Eve. From Disney-inspired outings to the capital’s own Winter Wonderland, the list is never-ending.

Ice Skating

What better way to spend your winter than ice skating with the family? From the Natural History Museum to Alexandra Palace, there are loads of places to go ice skating in London this winter. However, families particularly love the ice skating rink at the Natural History Museum, because of it’s stunning and easily-accessible location. It’s also the final year that the museum’s ice rink will be up and running, so make the most of it while you can! Skate around the majestic 30-foot Christmas tree and enjoy the sights of the beautifully illuminated museum. You can always stop off at the ice rink bar, grab a hot chocolate and snacks for the kids, or a mulled wine for yourself.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for an indoor ice rink to enjoy this New Year’s Eve, check out the ice skating at Alexandra Palace. Book a Christmas session and then get your skates on for a wonderful day of running circles around each other. Alexandra Palace’s ice rink also has the Ice Cafe, where you can grab a festive mulled wine or sweet baked treat to keep your energy up.

But if you choose to ice skate at the Natural History Museum you can find an affordable parking space in South Kensington with us. Or find a parking spot in Muswell Hill if you’re planning on visiting Alexandra Palace for a skate around.

Disney on Ice

If you or the kids aren’t keen on ice skating yourselves, perhaps an ice skating show will do just the trick. A great family day out in London for New Year’s Eve is Disney on Ice! Taking place at the O2 Arena between 22nd December 2021 - 2nd January 2022, it’s a fantastic show for the little ones, as well as those who are still kids at heart.

You can watch your favourite Disney characters come to life in a phenomenal ice skating show. Think Moana, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and more! Watch Disney’s best-known characters take to the ice and sing their classic songs - you’ll be joining in too, no doubt!

If you’re planning on checking out Disney on Ice for the New Year in London, make sure you know where you’ll be parking. We’ve got plenty of affordable parking spaces in Greenwich, so book your parking along with the show and forget about parking tickets.

There’s tons of rides and attractions to keep the kids entertained, or you can keep your feet on the ground with fun and competitive games for a chance to win soft toys and other classic carnival prizes. There’s also areas equipped with everything you need to keep warm, including heaters, fire pits and hot drinks, or you can enjoy some live entertainment in some of these food and drink establishments.
