You can store most everyday items like furniture, household goods, sports equipment, boxes, and work tools. Many garages are also suitable for storing a vehicle as long as it can fit inside.

Yes, you can cancel up to 24 hours before your booking starts, and you’ll get a full refund.

Once a booking has started, you must give 30 days notice to end it. You can do that directly from your booking dashboard

Most of our garage listings have photos of the space, as well as Google Street View enabled. We recommend having a look at those first to get a feel for the space and the surrounding area.

Yes. When you book, you will be asked to select an Item Guarantee plan that covers your items in the unlikely event that something happens to them while in storage.

The guarantee is mandatory for most storage bookings, and you can choose between two levels of coverage up to £3,000.

Certain self storage facilities, shipping container sites and garages handle bookings with Renters directly. Those bookings are not covered by the Item Guarantee, and it's best to check with the owner if they offer alternative insurance arrangements.

Some of our garages come with an electricity supply, typically those that are attached to a house. If that’s the case, you'll see it clearly marked in the “Features” section on this page.

You can also use our search filters to show only garages with electricity. If electricity is essential for what you're planning to store or how you'll use the space, just double-check the listing features before making a booking.

Garages are generally dry, but this can vary depending on factors such as the age and state of their roof and door.

We recommend carefully reviewing the photos and description of each garage before booking. You can also check past reviews and chat with the Host to ask specific questions if you have concerns about the condition of the garage.

If you have valuable items that are vulnerable to dampness, you can minimise the risk of damage by using water-resistant packaging and ensuring items are not stored directly on the floor.

Yes, as long as the Host has marked the garage as suitable to use as a workspace. You'll see this clearly indicated on the listing page.

People use our garages for DIY projects, hobbies, and running small businesses. Just double-check with the Host to make sure they're happy with how you plan to use the space.

No. For security reasons, we do not allow Renters to live in our garages. They are only suitable for storing items, parking a vehicle, or, if the Host permits, using as a workspace.
