Making a Booking With Stashbee

We make the process of renting a long-term parking space in Cardiff fast, simple and secure. Just enter the postcode or area where you want to park into the search bar and you’ll be presented with dozens of listings in that location.

Our listings include everything from off-street parking outside our Hosts’ homes to secure underground parking, garages and more. Once you find a spot that you like, just click on the listing to find out more. You’ll be able to see:

  • The type of parking space

  • Its size

  • Its distance from your target location

  • How much it costs per month

  • Whether a security deposit is payable

  • The minimum rental period

  • Any additional features such as CCTV, security gates, lighting and more

If you find a spot that’s everything you’ve ever wanted in a parking space, you can send a booking request to the Host. That should include a booking start date and an estimated booking duration. If the Host confirms your booking, you’ll have exclusive, around-the-clock use of the space from the booking start date.

You may also notice a lightning bolt icon on some of our listings. That means the space is available for ‘Instant Booking’. Just pay for the space and your booking will be confirmed immediately - perfect if you need to sort out parking in a hurry.

Paying for Parking in Cardiff

If you’re booking with Stashbee, you’ll pay for your long-term parking space in Cardiff online through our secure payment provider Stripe. When you pay for your first month’s rental of the space, the funds will be held in your account until the Host confirms your booking. Future payments will be charged on the same date every month until you or the Host serves notice to end the booking.

What’s more, the price you see on the listing is the price you’ll pay to rent the space for a month. There are no hidden charges or fees to worry about and all the prices are set by the Hosts themselves.

Security and Protection

We have put all the necessary protections in place to make sure your parking space rental in Cardiff goes without a hitch. However, for that protection to apply, you must make sure that every payment you make is through Stashbee. If you make a payment outside of Stashbee, then your booking and payment will not be protected.

When you click on a listing, you’ll see whether a security deposit needs to be paid to make the booking. The security deposit covers the Host in the unlikely event that:

  • There are outstanding or missing payments

  • Damage is caused to the space

  • Keys, fobs or parking permits are missing or lost

  • Any items need to be removed after the booking

As long as none of the above apply, then your deposit will be refunded in full at the end of the booking.

It’s important to know who you’re dealing with, which is why every one of our Hosts has had their ID verified by our team. We’ll also ask you to go through the same simple ID verification process.

Once your booking request has been accepted by your Host, we’ll ask you both to sign our booking terms. They protect both parties if anything goes wrong, so read them carefully and sign them before your booking begins.

Although we provide Guest Insurance for our storage customers, that doesn’t extend to any vehicles left in a Stashbee parking space. For that reason, you should always contact your vehicle’s insurer to let them know where your car will be parked.

If you encounter any issues at all during your booking, our support team is on hand to help. We have some of the finest humans on our team here at Stashbee, so you’re sure to receive a fast, helpful and friendly response.

When you pay for your parking space through Stashbee, you will be covered by our booking terms and cancellations and refunds policy. That will protect you in all sorts of scenarios. For example, if your Host cancels at the last minute, then you’ll receive a full refund.

All payments are managed by our online provider Stripe and we never store your banking details or share your personal information with anyone.

We have introduced some new measures so we can continue to operate safely throughout the pandemic.

  • Virtual viewings - Where possible, conduct parking space viewings via Facetime or Skype so your Host can show you the space without having to meet in person.

  • Keep your distance - If you do want to see a parking space in person, wear a mask and always follow the government’s social distancing rules.

  • Remote key handovers - If you’re worried about getting the key in person, you can use KeyNest to collect it safely.

  • Booking flexibility - With enhanced booking flexibility, you can move your start date if your plans change unexpectedly.

How Much is Parking in Cardiff City Centre?

It’s not cheap, especially if you end up in one of the city’s more expensive NCP car parks, where you can pay up to £11.80 for two hours. The council-run car parks on Westgate Street and in Rapports provide better value, at £3.50 an hour. However, the most affordable parking in the city can be found in the 2,000-space St David’s car park, above the St David’s shopping mall, where you’ll pay £3 for two hours.

However, none of those options are an affordable long-term parking solution. 24-hour parking at St David’s car park costs £25, while parking at Cardiff Central Station is £11 a day. That’s why renting a parking space in Cardiff with Stashbee is the most cost-effective solution.

Where Can I Park in Cardiff Overnight?

The St David’s car park is open 24 hours a day and offers affordable overnight parking (5pm to 6am) for just £4. That’s likely to be your best option if you want to park in the city centre on a short-term basis.

If you want to park in the Pontcanna/Canton area of the city, then the Sophia Gardens car park is open 24-hours a day. A stay of 12 to 24 hours will cost you £16.

If you’re looking for overnight parking in Cardiff Bay, Havannah Street car park is probably your best bet. You’ll pay £20 for a 24-hour stay.
