The pandemic has given people more time at home - and that means a lot of time to reflect on jobs and how we make our money. Side hustle enthusiasts have set up Etsy shops for their arts and crafts, food businesses, virtual tutoring and freelancing agencies, and more.

Some choose to think up a side hustle simply to earn more money. For others it’s a way to have fun outside of their usual work whilst getting extra income in the process. Some people may even be looking for ways to make a passive income, where you can earn cash without having to lift a finger.

But, uh… how do you make time for that all on top of a full-time job? Well, we’ll tell you our three favourite tips!

1) Find a Source of Passive Income

One of the best ways to make money on the side when you work a full-time job is by choosing a side business that provides passive income. But what is passive income? It’s essentially a stream of income that you earn that requires minimal effort. It sounds like a dream, right?

One of the best ways of sourcing passive income is by putting your unused space to good use. You can do just that with Stashbee! All you have to do is list your space with us (you could rent out your garage for storage purposes or rent out your parking space if you’ve got a driveway).Once someone books your space, you’ll be raking in the money without having to lift a finger.

Earning passive income with Stashbee is great for most people. But it’s especially great for stay-at-home parents who can’t invest too much time into work but want to continue bringing in money for the family.

2) Make a Schedule and Stick to it

When starting a side hustle while working full time, you’ll want to make sure you’re disciplined about when you work (and when you play - don’t forget to take breaks every now and then). It helps if your full-time job has a fixed schedule. For example, if you know you’ll be working Monday through Friday from 9-5, then you can quite easily schedule some time aside to focus on your side gig.

You could start by putting a couple of hours aside after your full-time job, three days a week, to plan and organise your side hustle. It’s important to have a break in between jobs, though, so do something you enjoy before switching from your full-time job to your side hustle. What might be even more beneficial is creating some flexibility within your work schedule. (Although this is something you might have to speak to your boss about first.)

 3) Find a Collaborator

If you can, find someone to share your side hustle with - preferably someone who has the same passion and spirit for it you do. You can split the workload, easing it for the both of you. This is a great setup to have, especially if you and your collaborator have outside commitments like a full-time job or a family.

The other good thing about finding a collaborator is their strengths might be your weaknesses. That means you can focus on certain areas of the business, whilst your partner can cover the other parts. You’ll make a great team!

Overall, finding a collaborator to work with on your side hustle means you can put more than one head together for planning, generating ideas, and putting your ideas into action - all whilst managing your time even more effectively.
