Follow these simple steps to rent a parking space in Westminster:

  1. Browse our listings to find your ideal parking spot

  2. Request a booking and pay the security deposit (if one is requested)

  3. The Host will confirm your booking and the space will be yours on a rolling monthly contract

Some of our spaces are also available for instant booking. If you see this option on a listing, you can pay for the space up front and your booking will be confirmed immediately. Perfect if you need parking in Westminster in a hurry.

Making payment

You’ll be asked to pay a security deposit when booking some of our parking spaces. That covers the Host if any damage is caused to their space or keys or fobs are lost. The deposit will be held in your account until the Host confirms your booking.

Payment for the parking space is due the day before the booking begins. From then on, payment will be taken automatically on the same day every month until you or the Host serves notice to end the booking.

All payments must be made by debit or credit and are managed by our secure payment provider Stripe. We do not store your payment details on our own servers and they certainly won’t be shared with anyone else.

Deposit Protection

Some of our listings ask you to pay a security deposit before you can book a parking space in Westminster. That will be held in your account until the booking is confirmed by your Host. Your deposit will be refunded in full at the end of the booking as long as:

The only other way you could lose a proportion of your security deposit is by cancelling your booking after the cooling-off period.

Once your booking request has been confirmed, your Westminster parking space will be taken off the market immediately. We’ll ask you to sign our booking terms before your booking begins and you’ll receive a signed copy of it, as well as having access to the terms via the documents section of your booking dashboard.

Our whole process is designed to make renting a parking space in Westminster simple, affordable and hassle-free. However, if you do need any assistance, you can contact the Stashbee support team at any time.

How Much Does it Cost to Park in Westminster?

Charges apply when you use on-street parking bays during controlled hours. The maximum stay for most controlled parking zones (CPZs) in Westminster is four hours, although you should always check the signs in your area. Depending on where you park, the price per hour is between £2.55 (Zones D1 & D) and £5.10 (Zones F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, G1 & G2).

There are also several private car parks in the area, including Q-Park in Westminster (£17 for two hours) and the Waterloo Car Park (£7 for two hours).

While these may be viable short-term parking options, they’re certainly not affordable over a longer period of time.

Can I Park on a Single Yellow Line in Westminster?

So you want to play fast and loose with Westminster’s parking laws, do you?

Actually, you could be in luck. Outside of controlled hours, you can park on single yellow lines in Westminster, unless the kerb markings say otherwise. The controlled hours in Westminster typically span from 8.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday or Monday to Saturday, although the times do vary by location.

Is Parking in Westminster Free?

The only time you can park in Westminster for free is outside of controlled hours. As an example, on-street parking is free in most areas on Sundays and after 6.30pm during the week. But don’t take our word for it - always check the signs for the zone you want to park in first.

Westminster Transport Options

If you’re heading into Westminster, you may be wondering which tube and train lines service the area before you set off on your journey. Well, Stashbee has the answers!

Westminster is served by:

  • Bus: Several bus routes go through the area, especially near Trafalgar Square, Parliament Square, Whitehall and the Strand.
  • Train: Victoria, Charing Cross, Waterloo, and Waterloo East are the nearest railway stations. Aside from Waterloo East, these stations are also connected to a variety of lines on the Tube network.
  • Tube: You can easily find your way to Westminster via the Circle, District or Jubilee Lines. Embankment Underground and St James's Park stations are also nearby, linking to the District line and Circle lines.
  • Boat. For a unique viewpoint, why not catch a river bus service from Westminster Pier?

But here’s the thing - none of these transit options are connected to a car park. So, if you’re driving into London, and want to take public transit into the heart of Westminster – using Stashbee to book a long-term, short-term, or hourly parking space is your best bet. We’re here to make sure you avoid getting caught on an endless loop through Piccadilly Circus, or pay above the odds in an NCP garage when you just want somewhere to park your ride.

Suppose you’re looking for suggestions for a lovely day (or evening) out on the town. In that case – allow us to recommend some noteworthy things to get up to!

We suggest exploring the following when in Westminster:

  • Sightseeing: 10 Downing Street, Big Ben, The House of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace are some of the biggest draws to Westminster. But if tourist traps are something you’d like to avoid, then we suggest making other plans, because these London landmarks get unsurprisingly busy!
  • Parks: If a relaxing picnic or raucous game of football strikes your fancy, why not visit one of Westminster’s spectacular parks? There are three within walking distance of Westminster, with Hyde Park being the most well-known, where you can hire deckchairs to enjoy outdoor concerts in the warmer months. There’s also St James's Park, where you can see the resident pelicans getting their daily feed around lunchtime and Victoria Embankment Gardens, which is littered with stunning flower beds.
  • Dining: A long day of walking and sightseeing is sure to work up quite the appetite.Luckily, you will be spoilt for choice when dining out. Westminster features a multitude of trendy Michelin-starred restaurants, cosy watering holes and everything in-between. Our favourite fine dining establishment has to be Roux at Parliament Square, but for a more casual meal, The Red Lion on Parliament Street is a can’t miss.
  • Shopping: If fashion is more your thing, Westminster is the place to be. St James’s, the nearest shopping area to central Westminster, features men's fashion mecca Jermyn Street and luxury department store Fortnum & Mason. Are you looking for high-end fashion like Gucci, Ralph Lauren, and Louis Vuitton? Then make your way to Mount Street in Mayfair to dig into some of the hottest trends of the season.

Whether your time in Westminster is for business or pleasure, let Stashbee take the worries and concerns around finding parking there off your plate.
