Tube Stations Near Camden

Camden Town station is a major stop on the Northern Line. This popular station links lines from the north and south, making it especially busy even before you factor in the hordes of tourists who flock there at weekends. In fact, it gets so busy that at weekends, it’s interchange and exit only.

You’ve also got the Chalk Farm Station, some fifteen minutes’ walk north of Camden Town Station. The next stop up on the Northern Line, it’s slightly out of the way of Camden’s main drag and, more significantly for our purposes, there’s no parking to be found there. Or at Camden Town station for that matter.

To save time and enjoy a hassle-free visit to Camden, your best bet would be to book parking with Stashbee. Now that we’re offering hourly parking, in addition to short-term and long termstays, you’ll be able to book a space for however long you need it - a pretty sweet deal if you ask us.

What to Do in Camden

One thing to say about Camden is that it’s almost impossible to get bored there. Plus, if you know where to go, you might just discover a few secrets that are well worth the visit. Here are a few of our favourite spots:

  • Take the walk from Chalk Farm station up to Primrose Hill, home to picturesque houses on Chalcot Crescent. A feast for the eyes - especially if you’re on a budget - there are also a few great cafes and pubs on the perimeter, making it perfect if you fancy a makeshift picnic
  • Take a stroll along Regent’s Canal as you make your way from Primrose Hill to the grittier parts of Camden
  • Feel the sand between your toes at Camden Beach - Yes! You read that right! - which can be found at The Roundhouse

Speaking of The Roundhouse, this is just one of the places to catch live music in Camden. This is a community that loves music and the arts. For other venues to catch a show, there’s:

  • The Cecil Sharp House is the place to be if you’re a fan of folk music. The legendary venue has been serving up strings since the 1930s
  • The Jazz Café, emphasis on the jazz
  • If you’re looking for the next up-and-coming acts, Camden is still full of great small venues where you just might find the next big thing. Best of the bunch might be The Camden Assembly, which sits almost exactly halfway between Chalk Farm and Camden Town stations.

At its core, Camden aims to be a haven for the fun and carefree. Between the markets, pubs and venues for every occasion, you really can’t go wrong with a visit to this remarkable part of London.

Information about Camden

Camden Town is a district of northwest London, at the north-west edge of Hampstead Heath and Chalk Farm. Nowadays, Camden Town is a lively centre for London's youth culture and music scene, with its clubs being instrumental in the development of punk rock.

It is also known for its markets and events at which alternative types of music, art and fashion are sold, including vintage clothing markets at Camden Lock. There are a number of markets held in different parts of the area every week, including Stables Market, Camden Lock Market, and most famously Camden Market.

Where can I park in Camden?

Now there’s a question. If you don’t book long-term secure parking space with Stashbee and don’t have a parking permit for an area close to your home or workplace, then you could be in trouble.

Camden Council provides details of the controlled parking zones in the area. However, these come with expensive hourly charges, making them a very short-term solution for those who lack deep pockets.

Camden Town is a busy area, and securing parking in the area can be difficult. Although there are several car parks in the area, most of them tend to be expensive. However, in Camden Town Centre there are three council-run car parks which include parking for disabled drivers at a reduced rate. There is also one long term multi-storey car park run by NCP on Chalk Farm Road near Camden Lock Market and another on Camden High Street near Camden Town Underground station.

With Stashbee, however, you'll find the best prices for parking in Camden.

How Much Does it Cost to Park in Camden?

The cheapest parking that we could find in Camden is £3 per hour, and other short-term car parking space is available in the area, peaking at around £15 for a 24 hour stay. On-street parking is also available in some areas of Camden, and will set you back £8.94 for two hours, making it a very expensive option.

What Are The Parking Restrictions Like in Camden?

Unfortunately, the answer to this question is strict to say the least. Camden is an extremely busy part of London, so it stands to reason that the council has to enforce the parking restrictions and penalise vehicles that are parked where they shouldn’t be.

Double yellow lines, footways, and kerb crossing areas are controlled 24 hours a day. Traffic wardens are also often out in force and will slap a Penalty Charge Notice on your windscreen if you’re parked illegally.
