How to Make a Booking

Booking your Southwark parking space is a breeze. Once you’ve found a spot in the perfect area, click on the listing and check that all the details are correct. Then enter your start date (when you’ll need the parking space from) and the estimated duration (how long you’ll need the space for) and click ‘Book Space’.

Your booking will be confirmed when the Host accepts your request. The space will be taken off the market immediately and your Host will provide you with any pin codes, fobs, or keys that you’ll need. You’ll be able to use the parking space as soon as your booking begins.

Instant booking

There’s also an instant booking option on some listings to speed the process up. Instead of waiting for the Host to accept your request, you can make a quick payment to book a spot then and there.

How Does Payment Work?

Once you’ve found your perfect Southwark parking space, you’ll be asked to put down a payment. Those funds will be held in your account until the Host confirms your booking. Only once they have confirmed the booking will the money be withdrawn from your account. If your Host doesn’t accept your booking request, the funds will be released back to you automatically.

The first month of your booking must be paid the day before the booking begins. Subsequent payments should be made monthly through our secure payment provider Stripe (you should be sure to make all payments through the Stashbee website). You will be charged automatically until you or the Host decide to end the booking.

What Protection is Offered?

We’re here to make finding a parking space in Southwark safe, simple, and hassle free. These are the steps we take.


You will be asked to pay a security deposit when creating a booking request for some of our Southwark parking spaces. As long as there’s no damage caused, outstanding payments, or lost keys, fobs, or parking permits, that deposit will be refunded in full at the end of the booking.

The only other way that you could stand to lose some of your security deposit is if you cancel your booking after the 24-hour cooling off period. You can read more about that in our Guest Cancellations and Refunds policy.


Pay for your booking through Stashbee (via our secure payment provider Stripe) and you’ll be protected by our Booking Terms and Cancellations and Refunds policy. We do not store your payment details and never share them with anyone else.

Payments that are made outside of Stashbee are not protected and won’t be covered by our terms and conditions. If you’ve inadvertently paid for your booking outside of Stashbee then you should get in touch with our team.


We ask every Stashbee Host to verify their identity, so you’ll know exactly who you’re dealing with. The ID Verified badge on their listing shows that their account has been verified by our team.

As a Guest, you’ll also need to verify your account before you can book your parking space. You can do that easily by uploading a photo of your ID. This helps to keep the platform safe. Find out more about verifying your account.

Before every booking starts, you and your Host will be asked to sign our Booking Terms. This will help to make sure that you’re protected in the unlikely event that anything goes wrong. We’ll send you a copy of your Booking Terms, which you’ll be able to find in the ‘Documents’ section of your booking dashboard.

Can I Park on a Single Yellow Line in Southwark?

That’s a firm no. Do that and there’d be carnage on the streets of Southwark.

You can only park in designated parking bays that are indicated by white lines. Even then, you can only park in those bays if you meet the requirements for that bay. For example, you might have to pay and display or have a parking permit with the relevant code.

You should never park in areas with single or double yellow lines as you could receive a fine.

Is Parking Free on Bank Holidays in Southwark?

Yes, free on-street parking is available during bank holidays in Southwark but only in certain locations. That includes:

  • Permit holder’s parking bays (except Zone C1)

  • Parking spaces that are usually pay and display

  • Council-run car parks (not including in Southwark Parks where charges still apply)
